Employee Provident Fund: How to check PF balance online or access e-passbook?
EPFO
has instructed the regional offices to provide PF calculation sheet
to the EPF users while final settlement.
You
can also check your EPF balance online facilitated by the EPFO by
logging in to your EPF account but you should have your UAN
(Universal Account Number) number in hand, hence you must ensure that
your UAN is generated and KYC (Aadhar, Pan No. & Bank A/C) is
updated and linked with your UAN number. do an EPF balance check by
logging to the EPF portal online.
The
notification dated 22 March, says that the Employee Provident Fund
Organization (EPFO) has decided to provide calculation worksheet of
provident fund withdrawal of each member either on their registered
mobile number or the email id provided in the claim form. This is
done in order to increase transparency in respect of provident fund
settlement withdrawal and to reduce the confusion and grievances of
the EPF subscribers.
The
EPFO has directed regional offices to provide the details of
calculation sheet to the EPF users at the time of final settlement
whether the claims filed through offline and online mode.
Now
in order to check your EPF balance online, having the UAN number is
mandatory. This is unique number provided to all employees enrolled
under the EPF scheme and the UAN number is allotted by the EPFO. All
employees should have only one UAN during their working life
irrespective of the companies they have worked. The UAN number must
be activated. Below is the details provided that how to activate your
UAN number. However most of the time the employer will generate the
UAN number and provide to its employees. Employees can check UAN in
the monthly salary slip.
How to activate UAN
Login
to unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in
- Go to ‘Know your UAN Status’ on the bottom right of the page
- Select PF office state
- Select PF office
- Mention company PF code
- Mention employee ID
- Mention Aadhaar and PAN number
- Mention details like employee name, date of birth, mobile number and email-id.
- Press on 'Get Authorization PIN'
- PIN is sent on your cell phone
Once
You have your UAN generated/ activated and you can login to check
your EPF balance, here is how it is done-
How to access EFP balance online
- Log in to the EPFO website— epfindia.gov.in
- Click on the 'Our Services' tab
- Choose the 'For Employees' option from the drop-down list
- Click on the 'Member Passbook' under the 'Services' option
- Click on passbook.epfindia.gov.in. On the login page, and enter the username which is the 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN) and password to log in.
- Employees can access E-passbook.
Now
with the help of E-passbook you can check your EPF balance online. It
has records of the employee’s PF status and all transactions. You
can also check your EPF balance online on the Umang Application for
which you need to UAN number in the EPFO’s services page and an OTP
(One-time Password) is sent to the employee's registered number.
